Skald · by Lifspel

Your game already keeps a record.
Skald writes the novel.

A server remembers what happened — who arrived, who was lost, what got built, where you went down and got back up. Skald reads that record and narrates it as literary prose, in your voice, chapter by chapter, as you play.

Reading is open to everyone. An account is for writing your own.

How it works

  1. Connect a worldPoint Skald at a server you play — its save and its log. It reads snapshots, never the live world, and only when someone has actually played.
  2. It builds the scaffoldArrivals, deaths, journeys, what was built and what it was built of. Facts nobody had to write down, because the game wrote them already.
  3. You write the originWho you were before, what you want, and who is telling the story. This part is yours — the record cannot supply it.
  4. It narrates, you approveEach beat becomes prose. Anything the engine invented is declared, and nothing becomes canon until you accept it.

From a real chronicle

She stood up first. I want you to see her as she was on that bank: not a girl newly spilled into a strange place but a woman finished, thirty years of the line in her shoulders, soaked to the collarbone, already assessing our state. Water, height, cover, sightlines.
